Recipe: How To Poach An Egg.
Have you ever stopped to wonder how eggs are poached? For a long time I didn’t. Until a few trips to the UK made me wonder how they got eggs perfectly O-shaped ; egg white and yolk especially. Then I found out and also how easy it was to make. Poached eggs is more less cooking eggs in simmering water. Simple. Very fancy name it has though, isn’t it?
To make poached eggs, all you need is one large fresh egg (the fresher the better, take my word for it) and pan of water. It’s that easy. Remember, it has to be fresh eggs or else the egg white will separate from the yolk. You don’t want that to happen.
Here’s a video of how I make my poached eggs in a space of 10 minutes. The ten minutes includes simmering time and poaching time.
If you want a lava yolk flowing out then you should shorten poaching time. The longer the egg stays in the water, the firmer the yolk becomes.
You can have poached egg on toast; perched atop sautéed vegetables or even rice. Its definitely much more eye-grabbing than a whole boiled egg. Wouldn't you say? Yes I do agree with you.
Have you tried poached egg before? Loved it or it was ughh.. ?
